I make this for Easter brunch at my mom and dad's house every year, it's always a huge hit!

Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine, melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 5-6 large egs
  • 12 slices texas toast
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 packages cream cheese (8 oz. each) softened

How To Make french toast casserole

  • Step 1
    Spread equal portions of the cream cheese on each slice of bread.
  • Step 2
    Pour melted margarine in a 9X13 baking pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon; stir.
  • Step 3
    Mix together milk, eggs and vanilla; pour over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Uncover and bake at 375 for 40 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Serve with maple syrup if desired.
