Ingredients

  • 1 (12) ounce loaf of french bread
  • 1 (21) ounce can apple pie filling
  • 8 - eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons dark corn syrup

How To Make double cinnamon french toast

  • Step 1
    Slice bread into 1 inch slices. Arrange a single layer of bread slices in bottom of buttered 9x13 inch baking pan. Spread pie filling over bread . Top with another layer of bread slices.
  • Step 2
    Combine eggs, milk, half and half, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a blender container and process until well mixed. Pour over top of bread. Refrigerate,covered,overnight.
  • Step 3
    Combine brown sugar, pecans, butter,and corn syrup in a bowl; mix well. Spread over top of bread mixture. Bake at 350 for 60 minutes or until puffed an golden brown
