This is a great dish for when you have plans to be outside..sledding or whatever!

Some people need more salt but make it first and then you can decide what tastes need "tweeking" !

Sorry I don't have pictures to show but feel free to post some if you end up enjoying this as much as we do in the cold winters of the Northwest.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lb
    sausage
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/4 c
    parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 c
    grated swiss cheese
  • 1
    egg, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp
    tabasco
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    fresh parsley
  • 2 c
    biscuit mix
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 1/4 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1
    egg yolk
  • 1 Tbsp
    water

How to Make Cold Morning Sausage Cheese Bake

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown sausage and then drain. Add next 6 ingredients.
  2. In a separate bowl make batter of biscuit mix, 3/4 cup milk and mayonnaise.

    Grease an 11x7x2 inch pan. Pour in and spread one half of the batter. Pour in sausage mixture, then spread remaining batter on top.
  3. Mix egg yolk with water and brush on top.
    Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until cake leaves side of pan.

    Cool 5 minutes before cutting into 3 " squares. Bon Appetit!
