challah french toast bake
I had a loaf of challah bread, and used this recipe. It sounded so good and I was glad I had found the challah bread in the bakery department at my local grocery store. Lots of good cinnamon sugar, eggs, and spices were added, along with a splash of vanilla. It will be a good breakfast once it chills overnight.

- - fresh challah bread – diced into large cubes
- 8 large eggs
- 1/3 cup brown sugar, lightly packed

- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups oat milk
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
How To Make challah french toast bake
-
Step 1In a very large bowl whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, and spices. Add in Vanilla and melted butter.
-
Step 2Cut up challah bread into large cubes and put them in a large bowl.
-
Step 3Secure a 13 x 9 glass dish and grease it lightly.
-
Step 4Add in the cubed challah bread and spread until it is even in the pan.
-
Step 5Pour the egg and milk mixture evenly over the top of the challah bread cubes. Push any of the dried cubes down into the pan with a spatula so they are equally wet with the mixture.
-
Step 6Cover and chill for two hours or overnight (best to do in my opinion).
-
Step 7The next day, let it rest to room temperature. In the meantime, set the oven to 350 degrees F.
-
Step 8Insert the 13 x 9 into the oven and bake for 40 minutes or until golden brown. If it starts to get too dark too fast, replace the foil on top so it doesn’t burn.
-
Step 9After it has baked, take it out and let it rest. Cut into eight squares evenly.
-
Step 10Drizzle over syrup or sprinkle with powdered sugar depending on what you like.
