I like preparing this kind of meal especially weekends at the cottage.Prepare this in the evening, refrigerate overnight and bake it in the morning..good for Brunch.

Ingredients
- 4 cups bite size broccoli florets
- 4 - eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 5 cups whole wheat baguette cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon honey or dijon mustard
- 6 ounces black forest ham from deli cut into pieces
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 tablespoon paprika, sweet mild
- - salt and pepper to taste
How To Make broccoli, ham and cheddar strata

Step 1Butter a 13 x 9 baking casserole. In a pot of boiling water cook broccoli for 3 minutes..drain and rinse in cold water drain well and pat dry.

Step 2In large bowl whisk eggs until blended whisk in the milk mustard, basil,paprika and s and p...add broccoli, bread, ham and half the cheese toss gently. Spread into prepared casserole and sprinkle with remaining cheese.Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight..Preheat oven to 350F.

Step 3Uncover casserole and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until puffed and a knife inserted in centre comes out clean..Let stand for 5 minutes then serve.

Step 4You can substitute smoked salmon,chorizo sausage or cooked chicken for the ham.
