Ingredients

1 lb
bob evans zesty hot sausage
5 slice
bread, cut or torn into 1/2-inch pieces
1
green pepper, diced
1
red pepper, diced
1 small
onion, sliced
1 can(s)
large sliced mushrooms
2 c
sharp shredded cheddar cheese
6
eggs
3 c
milk
1 tsp
dry mustard
salt to taste

How to Make Breakfast Squares

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Crumble and cook sausage in medium skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain off any drippings.
  • 2Spread bread cubes in greased 9 x 13 baking dish; mix sausage, peppers, mushrooms, onion, and spread on top of bread cubes. Layer cheese over all. Whisk eggs, milk, salt and mustard until well blended; pour over cheese evenly.
  • 3Bake 30-45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting into squares; serve hot. Refrigerate leftovers.
