Ingredients

  • 1 package country mild pork sausage
  • 10 - eggs, lightly beaten
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 cups cubed bread (i use french bread)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese of choice
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup thin-sliced green onions
  • 2 tablespoons bell pepper of choice, finely chopped
  • - garlic & onion powder to taste
  • - dash of chili powder

How To Make breakfast/lunch/supper casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325 degrees and butter 13x9 baking pan or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    Cook sausage over medium-high heat until no longer pink, drain.
  • Step 3
    In large mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, mustard, salt, pepper, chili powder, garlic and onion powder; stir well.
  • Step 4
    Layer in pan in the following order: half the bread, half the cheese, half the sausage and half the onions and bell pepper. Repeat layer using the remaining bread, cheese, sausage, onion and bell pepper.
  • Step 5
    Pour egg mixture evenly over casserole and bake uncovered for 60 minutes or until eggs are set. If top begings to brown too quickly, tent with foil.
  • Step 6
    Individual servings can be topped with salsa, white gravy or extra cheese.
