Ingredients
- 1 pound breakfast sausage, i like jimmy dean original
- 1 bag hash brown potatoes, frozen ( doesnt matter if they are cubed or shredded)
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups fat free half and half
- 2 tablespoons flour
- salt and pepper, to taste
How To Make breakfast hashbrown casserole
-
Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a glass 9x13 pan with nonstick coating. Spread out in the pan the hashbrown potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
-
Step 2Beat eggs and milk together and pour over the potatoes. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
-
Step 3In a skillet ( I love my cast iron one for this) brown the sausage until done to your liking, personally I like it when the edges are crispy. Sprinkle the flour on the sausage and stir. Cook a couple minutes longer until flour is well blended. Slowly stir in the half and half until rich and thick and bubbly. Add pepper to taste.
-
Step 4Pour sausage gravy over egg potatoes mixture. Do not stir! Bake for 1 hour or until eggs are set.
