A very delicious casserole that is super good for dinner too!

prep time 30 Min
cook time 1 Hr
method Bake
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage, i like jimmy dean original
  • 1 bag hash brown potatoes, frozen ( doesnt matter if they are cubed or shredded)
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups fat free half and half
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • salt and pepper, to taste

How To Make breakfast hashbrown casserole

  • Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a glass 9x13 pan with nonstick coating. Spread out in the pan the hashbrown potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  • Step 2
Beat eggs and milk together and pour over the potatoes. Sprinkle the cheese on top.
  • Step 3
In a skillet ( I love my cast iron one for this) brown the sausage until done to your liking, personally I like it when the edges are crispy. Sprinkle the flour on the sausage and stir. Cook a couple minutes longer until flour is well blended. Slowly stir in the half and half until rich and thick and bubbly. Add pepper to taste.
  • Step 4
Pour sausage gravy over egg potatoes mixture. Do not stir! Bake for 1 hour or until eggs are set.
