1 tsp
dry mustard
2 slice
white bread, in 1" cubes
1 lb
sausage, browned
1 c
sharp cheddar cheese, grated

How to Make Breakfast Casserole (Pennsylvania Dutch)


  • 1Beat eggs, add milk, salt and mustard, mixing well.
  • 2Grease bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish.
  • 3Place in layer of bread cubes, the sausage, then cheese.
  • 4Pour egg mixture over the top.
  • 5Refrigerate overnight.
  • 6Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  • 7Let stand about 5 minutes before cutting.
  • 8NOTE: For 8 people use 3 slices of bread and 8 eggs.
