Great recipe when family comes in for holiday. Prepare the night before and bake in the morning.

Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 1-1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 6 - eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

How To Make breakfast casserole

  • Step 1
    Remove crust from bread. Spread butter on bread and place bread in greased 13x9 casserole dish.
  • Step 2
    Cook sausage until brown, drain, and then spoon over bread. Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Step 3
    Combine eggs, milk, salt and pepper; mix well. Pour over ingredients in pan. Cover and refrigerate until morning.
  • Step 4
    Remove from fridge 15 minutes before cooking. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
