This recipe is one of those that is good anytime, not just for breakfast. However, my grandchildren love this recipe. It freezes well in individual servings also. I don't drink coffee, but it is just wonderful with a diet coke in the morning!

crescent rolls
1 lb
pork sausage
8 oz
cream cheese, room temperature
1 small
onion, diced
2 Tbsp
butter, plus butter to grease baking dish
2 c
grated sharp cheddar cheese

How to Make Breakfast Bars


  • 1Generously grease the 9X13" Pyrex dish with butter. Place 1 package Crescent rolls in bottom of dish. Pinch seams together and spread out to cover the entire dish.
  • 2Brown sausage with onions until meat in no longer pink and onions are clear. Drain.
  • 3Combine sausage mixture and cream cheese well. Spread on crescent rolls in the baking dish.
  • 4Cover sausage mixture with grated cheese.
  • 5Top with second package of crescent rolls. Cover completely. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 30 min. Let set a few minutes before cutting into bars. Lightly butter top of crescent rolls while hot.
