This is very good and so easy to do. My family loves it. My favorite way to serve it is with apples sauteed in butter and a bit of brown sugar wiith a touch of ginger and cinnamon.

  • 3 c
    old fashioned oats (not instant)
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 2
  • 1 c
    milk or half and half
  • 1/2 c
    melted butter

How to Make Baked Oatmeal


  1. In a large bowl, combine the oats, 3/4 cup brown sugar, baking powder, salt and cinamon. Stir together and set aside.
  2. In another bowl beat eggs, milk and butter then stir this into the oats and blend well.
  3. Spoon into buttered 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Sprinkle the last 1/4 cup sugar over the top and return to oven till sugar melts. Turn on broiler and broil 2-3 minutes.
  4. Serve with additional milk and fruit as desired. You can also bake fruit and nuts into this also if you prefer.
