baked french toast casserole

I had never made this recipe until today, for our Christmas Breakfast Potluck at work. I told everyone I was using them as my guinea pigs because I would get honesty from my co-workers. Well they loved it, not only am I posting it here, but emailing the recipe to quite a few co-workers tonite. Even a known raisin hater tried it and complimented how good it was. Enjoy

Ingredients
- 1 package raisin bread
- 8 - eggs
- 2 cups milk (almond milk is quite tasty to use)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup raisins, and peeled and chopped apple, pecans or walnuts, if desired
- 1 cup maple syrup
How To Make baked french toast casserole

Step 1Place bread cubes in greased 9x11 pan, In a large bowl whisk eggs, milk and cinnamon. Pour over bread. Dot with butter. Cover and refrigerate 30 mins or longer (overnight is best)

Step 2Remove from refrigerator, sprinkle with brown sugar, raisins, apples and nuts. Drizzle with maple syrup.

Step 3Cover and bake at 350* 30-35 minutes; uncover and bake 10 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out claen. Let stand 5 min. Serve with additional maple syrup if desired.
