- 1 - long french baguette or italian bread without seeds
- 3 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract

- 1 large egg white
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3/4 cup sliced almonds
How To Make baked almond french toast

Step 1cut loaf into 1 inch thick slices and squeeze as many as possible, cut side up, into a buttered 13 x 9 inch pan. Whisk together eggs, milk, butter, sugar, salt and extract and pour evenly over bread. Chill, covered overnight. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Whisk egg white with sugar and a generous pinch of salt and stir in almonds until well combined. Spread mixture over bread and bake until bread is puffed and golden about 25-35 minutes.
