Ingredients
- 2 slices lean bacon
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup warm water (105 to 115 degree f)
- 3/4 cup warm milk ( 105-115 degrees farenheit)
- 1 1/4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (5oz )
- 1/3 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons dill seeds
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted

Step 1Cook bacon ina skillet over medium heat until crisp, 8 to 10 minutes. Drain on a paper towel and crumble . set aside.

Step 2Meanwhile, in a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until foamy, 5 to 10 minutes.

Step 3Mix together milk, cheese, bacon, onion bell pepper, sugar, dill, alt, and egg until blended.

Step 4Stir yeast mixture into cheese mixture. Stir in flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a stiff dough forms.

Step 5place dough in a large greased bowl, turning to coat. Cover loosely with a damp cloth; let rise in a warm place until doubled, 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.

Step 6Grease a 2 quart round casserole dish. Punch down dough. place in prepared casserole. cover loosely with damp cloth let rise in a warm place until doubled, 50 to 60 minutes.

Step 7Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake bread until it is golden, 45 minutes. Transfer casserole to a wire rack to cool slightly.

Step 8While bread is still hot , brush with melted butter. Turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely
