I tried to pinch it with the app, but because I had already pinched a recipe called Quiche Lorraine, it would only show that first recipe (I renamed this recipe to include the Gruyere ingredient for ease of identification; the original title was simply Quiche Lorraine).

Ingredients

  • 5 ounces shortcrust pastry
  • 6 ounces gruyere cheese
  • 6 ounces bacon
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch grated nutmeg
  • 2/3 cup single cream

How To Make quiche lorraine with gruyere

  • Step 1
    Line an 18-cm(7-in) flan tin or sandwich cake tin with the pastry.
  • Step 2
    Place a layer of cheese on the pastry, then a layer of bacon, and repeat until both ingredients have been used up.
  • Step 3
    Mix the eggs with the cayenne pepper, nutmeg, and cream or milk, then pour over the cheese and bacon mixture in the flan case.
  • Step 4
    Bake near the top of the oven at 200 degrees C (400 degrees F) Gas mark 6 for about 30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and the filling set.
  • Step 5
    Serve hot or cold.
