- 1 - loaf french bread
- 8 - eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 ounces package cream cheese
- 16 ounces bag mixed berries, divided
- 1/2 cup light karo syrup
How To Make make-ahead berry french toast casserole

Step 1Cut french bread into 1-inch chunks and place in a large bowl. In a seperate bowl, mix together the eggs through the salt. Pour over the french bread and toss to coat thoroughly. Spray a 13X9 pan with cooking spray. Add half of the bread. Dot with half the cream cheese and 1/4 cup of berries. Add the remaining bread and dot with the remaining cream cheese and 1/4 cup of berries. Refrigerate overnight.

Step 2For the syrup ~ Put the remaining berries and juices in a heavy-bottomed sauce pan with the corn syrup. Heat to a simmer, stirring constantly. Continue to simmer until the mixture is thickened.

Step 3Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake the casserole for about 30 minutes, until browned on the top and firm in the center. Serve with syrup.
