banana foster french toast
This recipe sounded delicious so I'm trying it for my Curious Cuisiners group.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans, optional
- 3 - large bananas
- 12 slices challah bread (i used french bread)
- 1 1/2 cups milk (2%)
- 3 - eggs
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make banana foster french toast

Step 1Microwave butter 30-45 seconds covered until melted.

Step 2Stir in brown sugar, heavy whipping cream, cinnamon and pecans (if desired). Add bananas & toss gently to coat.

Step 3Transfer to an ungreased 13 x 9 baking dish. Arrange bread over top, trimming to fit.

Step 4Place milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla in a blender; process just until blended. Pour over bread. Refrigerate covered 8 hours or overnight.

Step 5Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Meanwhile remove baking dish from refrigerator. Bake uncovered 35-40 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

Step 6Let stand 5-10 minutes. Invert to serve.
