Sweet rolls the surprise is the use of a cake mix in the recipe. Easy and the fun part is you can try different cake mixes.

2 Dozen rolls

1 pkg
yellow cake mix
2 pkg
dry yeast (2-1/4 tsp = .25 pkg)
5 c
2-1/2 c
hot water
4 Tbsp
margarine, divided
brown sugar ( just sprinkle evenly)
cinnamon (just lightly shake some on evenly)
raisins ( as many or as little as you like)


cube butter or margarine
4 Tbsp
brown sugar
3 Tbsp
corn syrup, light


1Mix first three ingredients.
2Add Hot water, blend well.
3Cover bowel and let rise until doubled in size.
4Cut in half and roll rectangular shape. Spread with Two tablespoons of butter or margarine. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon and raisins.
5Toll up and cut into 1-1/2 inch slices. Place in a greased pan with high sides. Repeat with other half of the dough.
6Cover and let rise til doubled.
7Preheat oven to 375
8Combine topping ingredients and spread over the tops just before baking.
9Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes
10Chocolate cake mix is good.. I just omit raisins and add chopped pecans. Also have added some dried chopped dark cherries.
