My grandmothers banana nut bread recipe, tried and true I make this often.

    large overripe bananas ( the darker the better )
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts ( i prefer pecans or walnuts )
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2 c

How to Make Swiss Banana Nut Bread


  1. Cream together butter, sugar, and eggs, once its creamy add the banana.
  2. Sift together the flour, salt, baking soda and mix well with the wet ingredients.
  3. Mix in the chopped nuts.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.
  5. While bread is warm baste 4 Tablespoon melted butter and then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
