Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    cooking oil
  • 2 c
    mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1 tsp
    allspice, ground

How to Make Sweet Potato Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix first 5 ingredients well and add dry ingredients. Add 1 cup chopped nuts and 1 box chopped dates (I do not use dates but you can.) Put equal amounts in three loaf pans or four greased tall coffee cans. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. When cool, slice and enjoy. Can be frozen but needs to thaw in the refrigerator.
