My family loves plantains, therefore, this bread is a hit in my household.

  • 2 large
    very ripe plantain bananas (they should be more black than yellow)
  • 1/2 c
    melted butter
  • 1/2 c
  • 4 large
  • 2 tsp
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 2 1/2 c
    whole wheat flour ( i use freshly ground)
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder

How to Make Sweet Plantain Bread


  1. Slice the plantain. Place in a food processor with melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla & milk.
  2. Process until plantains are mashed & mixture is well combined.
  3. Add combined dry ingredients & process until well combined.
  4. Pour into well greased 9x13 baking pan.
  5. Bake at 350' for about 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
