Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 2/3 cup warm milk
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 2/3 cup soft butter
  • TOPPING
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 tablespoon orange blossom water
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar

How To Make sweet french bread with orange blossom water

  • Step 1
    The night before, dissolve the yeast in the warm milk. Allow to sit for 10 minutes.
  • Step 2
    In a stand mixer with a hook, add the eggs, sugar, salt, orange blossom water, and the yeast mixture.
  • Step 3
    Slowly incorporate the flour and softened butter little by little. Let the mixer knead the dough for about 30 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let sit at room temp overnight.

    The next morning, place the dough on a buttered baking sheet and shape it into an oval.

    Bake at 250 degrees for about an hour.

    Mix the egg white and orange blossom water. Brush over the bread after you remove it from the oven.
