sweet dough for rolls

I got this recipe from my mother in law it was her mothers. Everyone loves these rolls.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 6 or 7 cups flour
  • 2 packages dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

How To Make sweet dough for rolls

  • Step 1
    place water in glass bowl. Sprinkle yeast and 1 Tbs of sugar over water,let it come to a foam.
  • Step 2
    Scald milk add butter,sugar,and salt. Let it cool, then add your yeast and beaten eggs. Then add flour,do not make dough stiff. Lightly kneed and place dough in a well greased bowl,let raise until doubled about 1 1/2 hours.
  • Step 3
    Punch down,make into rolls grease top with melted butter,cover let rise until double approx. 1 hour.
  • Step 4
    Bake at 350 for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown on top.
