- 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Step 1In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.

Step 2In a small bowl, combine egg, milk, and butter.

Step 3Add wet mixture to dry mixture. Mix well.

Step 4In a electric skillet or deep fat fryer, heat oil to 375 degrees.

Step 5Drop dough by heaping teaspoons full; 5 or 6 at a time into oil.

Step 6Fry until browned, about 1 - 2 minutes; turning once.
