This is 1 of my late mother's homemade recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 - egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • - oil for deep fat frying
  • - confectioners' sugar

How To Make sugared donut holes

  • Step 1
    In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl, combine egg, milk, and butter.
  • Step 3
    Add wet mixture to dry mixture. Mix well.
  • Step 4
    In a electric skillet or deep fat fryer, heat oil to 375 degrees.
  • Step 5
    Drop dough by heaping teaspoons full; 5 or 6 at a time into oil.
  • Step 6
    Fry until browned, about 1 - 2 minutes; turning once.
  • Step 7
    Drain on paper towels.
  • Step 8
    Roll in confectioners' sugar.
