  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/3 c
  • 1/3 c

How to Make Strawberry Nut bread


  1. Puree enough strawberries in a bender to make 1
    cup. Pour pureed strawberries into small saucepan. Heat to boiling over medium heat and cook 1 minute stirring constantly. Cool.
    Slice remaining berries. chill and reserve.
  2. Combine flour, salt, soda, baking powder and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. Cream sugar and shortening and eggs until light and fluffy. Alternately add flour mixture and water to creamed mixture mixing at low speed. Stir in pureed strawberries. Fold in nuts.

    Pour batter into 9 x 5" loaf pan sprayed with pam. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until it test done with a toothpick. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack. Let bread stand. Wrap in foil or plastic wrap 24 hours.
    To serve, cut into thin slices and top with reserved berries. Makes 12-15 servings.
