How to Make Sticky Buns

Step-by-Step

  1. Remove dough from the machine after the dough or manual cycle is completed. Let rest while you prepare the sticky sauce by warming all the sauce ingredients, except for the pecans, over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Pour the sticky sauce in a 13x9 pan. Sprinkle with broken nuts.
  3. Turn dough out onto floured surface (it will be sticky), and punch down. Form into a rectangle with your finger tips. Dot with soft butter and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  4. Roll jellyroll style and pinch seams together. Slice into 1 1/2 inch slices. place into pan on top of sticky sauce, and let double in size ( about 1 hour in my oven with just the light on)
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Cool for no more than three minutes, then invert pan so sauce and the nuts are on top on the buns. Let cool before you pull them apart with two forks.
