I remember coming home after school to the wonderful aroma of spices, my Mom made this Gingerbread as an after school snack. Today, this is one of my favorites.

Ingredients

1/2 c
shortening
1/2 c
sugar
2
eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c
sifted all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
soda
1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
ginger
1 tsp
cinnamon
1/4 tsp
cloves
1 c
steen's syrup
1 c
boiling water

How to Make STEEN'S GINGERBREAD

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream the shortening and sugar until fluffy.
  • 2Add eggs, sifted all purpose flour, baking powder, soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves alternately with the Steen Syrup and water.
  • 3Beat enough to mix thoroughly, pour into a well-greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes
