I found this on the internet (DuggarFamily.com) and made it last year for the Holidays. This is a delicious bread! A wonderful moist banana bread with a crusty sweet topping of cinnamon & sugar. I like to add a little extra bananas, and then I also added some chocolate chips to mine... Yummy! This recipe is doubled.

How to Make St. John's Banana Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease & flour loaf pans.
  2. Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs.
  3. Mix together sifted dry ingredients. Add to wet ingredients. Mix well.
  4. Add in mashed bananas. Add nuts & chocolate chips (if using). Mix well.
  5. Pour into prepared pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes (see note for smaller loaves). Breads are done when a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. ** Notes:
If making small loaves, bake 30-35 minutes.

You can also use the disposable aluminum loaf pans, and freeze breads for gifts!
