- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 1/4 cups solid pack pumpkin
- 3/4 cup lager beer
- 1/2 cup canola oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup plumped raisins
- 1/2 cup pecans, coarsely chopped

Step 1Preheat oven 350° and grease and flour a (9x5 inch) loaf pan or 4 mini-loaves. Whisk the first 5 ingredients. Mix next 7 ingredients together in another bowl.

Step 2Combine mixtures with a whisk or wooden spoon til just moistened. Fold in nuts and raisins. Pour beer bread batter into pans and bake 65 minutes or til a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool the beer bread loaves in the pan for 10 minutes, turn out onto wire rack and cool 1 hour before slicing (if using mini-pans to make the spicy pumpkin beer bread, bake 45 minutes or til toothpick comes out clean).
