Saw this recipe on Studio 5 (KSL-Utah station) and had to make it... not sure what they think sopapillas are, but whatever they want to call it, it is delish!!!!

Ingredients
- 2 cans crescent rolls
- 2 packages cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla or almond extract
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar
How To Make sopapilla squares

Step 1Preheat oven to 350* Let cream cheese come to room temperature and beat in sugar and vanilla. Set aside

Step 2Roll out the 1st can of crescent rolls in a greased 13x9 baking dish. Spread on the cream cheese layer and top with the 2nd can of crescent rolls.

Step 3Melt butter and spread on top, and then sprinkle with anywhere from 1/4- 1/2 cup of cinnamon sugar, depending on your taste. Bake for 30 minutes... remove to a wire rack and let rest until slightly cooled or completely cool.
