Saw this recipe on Studio 5 (KSL-Utah station) and had to make it... not sure what they think sopapillas are, but whatever they want to call it, it is delish!!!!

crescent rolls
2 pkg
cream cheese, room temperature
1 c
1 Tbsp
vanilla or almond extract
1/4 c
butter, melted
1/4 c
cinnamon sugar

How to Make Sopapilla Squares


  • 1Preheat oven to 350*
    Let cream cheese come to room temperature and beat in sugar and vanilla.
    Set aside
  • 2Roll out the 1st can of crescent rolls in a greased 13x9 baking dish.
    Spread on the cream cheese layer and top with the 2nd can of crescent rolls.
  • 3Melt butter and spread on top, and then sprinkle with anywhere from 1/4- 1/2 cup of cinnamon sugar, depending on your taste.
    Bake for 30 minutes... remove to a wire rack and let rest until slightly cooled or completely cool.
