Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 8 tablespoons cold unsalted butter cut up
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar ( use 1/3 for sweeter scone
  • 2/3 cup milk

How To Make simple sweet scones

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 425F, Put flour, baking powder and salt into large bowl, stir mix well.
  • Step 2
    Add butter and cut with pastry blender, until mixture looks like fine granduals. Add sugar; toss to mix
  • Step 3
    add milk and stir with fork until dough forms.
  • Step 4
    Form dough into a ball and turn smooth side up. Pat and roll into 6 inch circle, cut each circle into 6 or 8 wedges. Place wedges on ungreased cookie sheet, slightly apart for crisp sides, touching for soft. sprinkle desired amount of sugar and cinnamon on each scone. Bake about 12 min until medium brown on top.
