scandinavian cardamom tea loaf

I think I may have mentioned a time or two how much I like the flavor of cardamom. Here is an old recipe that I haven't made in years, it came to mind when I made the Earl Grey Tea Loaf I pinched from on here today. I will have to bake a few and put them in the freezer for those days when we are looking for something to go with a good cup of tea.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups unbleached white flour
  • 2 teaspoons cardamon, freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 10 tablespoons butter, unsalted, melted

How To Make scandinavian cardamom tea loaf

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  • Step 2
    Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside. Beat eggs and sugar together until creamy. Add dry ingredients and mix until combined. Mix in sour cream and melted butter.
  • Step 3
    Pour batter into prepared pan, baking until done, about an hour. Cool in pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto rack and finish cooling. Dust with powdered sugar.
