I like to serve this with the Breakfast Pie. They are both prepared the night before, covered and refrigerated and baked the next morning.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup special k cereal
- 1/4 cup chopped nuts
- 1/4 cup brown sugar--firmly packed
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon margarine or butter--softened
- 1 -1/2 cup special k cereal
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 - egg
How To Make save-a-day coffeecake

Step 1Combine first 5 ingredients in small bowl, mixing until crumbly. Cover tightly and store overnight for topping.

Step 2Stir together the 1-1/2 cups cereal, flour, baking powder, soda, salt, cinnamon and sugar in large mixing bowl. Add buttermilk, shortening and egg. Beat until well combined. Spread batter evenly in greased 9x9x2 baking pan. Cover tightly. Refrigerate overnight.

Step 3Morning--Remove pan from refrigerator. Uncover and sprinkle topping over batter. (first 5 Ingredients)

Step 4Bake in oven at 350* about 25 min. or until tests done. Cool 5 min. before serving
