My mother got this from a can of pumpkin back in the 70's.

Ingredients For pumpkin bread

  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 can
    pumpkin
  • 3
    eggs
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    cloves
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg

How To Make pumpkin bread

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With electric mixer, mix sugar, oil, pumpkin, & eggs.

    In separate bowl, mix flour and other dry ingredients together.

    Add the dry ingredient mixture a few spoonfuls at a time to the wet ingredient mixture with electric mixer on low until all combined.

    Grease & flour 3 metal coffee cans or 2 loaf pans. Pour batter in equal amounts into containers.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hr to 1 hr & 15 min. Remove from pans and wrap in aluminum foil (to keep from forming a crust) or slice eat warm.
