Ingredients
- 2/3 cup vegetable shortening
- 2 2/3 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 can pumpkin
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 3 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
How To Make pumpkin bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray the bottom of a large loaf pan or several miniature loaf pans with nonstick spray.

Step 2Cream shortening and sugar. Add water Blend well

Step 3Add eggs.

Step 4Add pumpkin.

Step 5Add baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and ground cloves. Blend well.

Step 6Add flour, blending after each cup.

Step 7Optional: Stir in 2/3 cup raisins and/or 2/3 cup walnuts.

Step 8Bake large loaf 70 minutes, small loaves 50 minutes, or until it passes the toothpick test.
