This recipe will make (2) 9x5x3 pans or (4) 6x3x2 pans. It makes a great gift during the holidays!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 can 16 ounce can pumpkin
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon clove, ground
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup chopped nuts
  • 2/3 cup raisins, or dates or apricots or currents or craisins
  • 3 tablespoons light molasses

How To Make pumpkin bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray pans with Pam. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Whisk together dry ingredients. Add rest of ingredients and stir until dry ingredients are moistened and mixture is smooth. Pour into prepared pans. Bake for 60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove to cooling rack, cool completely.
