Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup shortening (crisco)
- 2 - eggs
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
How To Make pumpkin bread

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In mixing bowl cream together brown sugar and shortening until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs. Add pumpkin and milk, mix well.

Step 2Stir together flour, baking powder, salt, ginger, baking soda and cloves. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well.

Step 3Stir in nuts and raisins (both optional). Turn into greased 9x5x3 loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Wrap and store overnight before slicing. Enjoy.
