Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 1/3 cups orange juice
- 3/4 cup orange peel
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 - eggs, beaten
- 4 cups flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons salt
How To Make orange bread, mom

Step 1Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Add peel and stir constantly over med heat until dissolved. Reduce heat, cook 5 min. Add butter, when melted, cool and add juice and egg. Add dry ingredients. Turn into greased 8x4 pan. Bake 45-50 min at 325 degrees. Let stand 10 min and turn out to rack to cool. Store overnight before slicing.

Step 2To sliver orange peel, remove thin orange colored peel only with a vegetable peeler and cut into strips.
