Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 - eggs, well beaten
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
How To Make old virginia spoonbread

Step 1In a casserole dish, melt butter.

Step 2Scald meal with boiling water.

Step 3Add beaten eggs and buttermilk combined with baking soda, salt, & baking powder. Beat 1 min.

Step 4Pour in melted butter.

Step 5Pour mixture into hot casserole dish & bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes, until brown. Serve immediately.
