oatmeal chip banana bread

So good and just a little different then most banana breads.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 or 4 medium bananas, very ripe and mashed
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

How To Make oatmeal chip banana bread

  • Step 1
    Grease a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes
  • Step 2
    In a mixing bowl cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add bananas and mix well.
  • Step 3
    In another bowl combine flour, oats, baking soda , baking power and salt; add to the creamed mixture, stirring just until moistened. Stir in chocolate chips. pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in pan. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
