  • 1/2 c
  • 1 c
  • 2 large
  • 3 or 4 medium
    bananas, very ripe and mashed
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    quick cooking oats
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    miniature semisweet chocolate chips

How to Make Oatmeal Chip Banana Bread


  1. Grease a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.
    Bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes
  2. In a mixing bowl cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add bananas and mix well.
  3. In another bowl combine flour, oats, baking soda , baking power and salt; add to the creamed mixture, stirring just until moistened. Stir in chocolate chips. pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in pan. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
