nutritious breakfast bread

I have adopted this recipe, and I will be making it soon. We have a bake sale coming up... and I am sure this home made goodie, will sell!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2/3 cup nonfat dry milk powder
  • 1/3 cup oatmeal, uncooked
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/3 cup prunes, pitted, chopped
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup mashed bananas

How To Make nutritious breakfast bread

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325.
  • Step 2
    Combine flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, milk, oats, sugar, nuts, raisins and prunes in large bowl.
  • Step 3
    Blend with fork.
  • Step 4
    Beat eggs until foamy.
  • Step 5
    Add oil, molasses, juice and bananas.
  • Step 6
    Add mix to dry ingredients.
  • Step 7
    Pour into 2 8x4 greased loaf pans.
  • Step 8
    Bake at 325 for one hour (for muffins, grease tins and fill 2/3 full, bake 350 for 20 minutes).
  • Step 9
    Cool slightly before removing from pan.
  • Step 10
    You may substitute raw chopped apples, grated carrots, applesauce or grated zucchini for bananas.
