I have made this bread often and have shared the recipe just as much.One day I was looking at an inn type cookbook and voila-the same recipe was there!This recipe originated from my mother,a wonderful cook...and we continue making it now.It's really a delicious,moist bread,filled with flavor for those who enjoy the blend of orange/cranberry!!

  • 2 Tbsp
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    cranberries, fresh (fresh frozen,straight from the freezer is fine!)
  • 1 c
    orange juice
  • 3/4 c
    walnuts halves,coarsely broken up

How to Make Mother's Orange Cranberry Nut Bread


  1. Preheat the oven to 350.Grease and flour a 9x5 loaf pan.
  2. Cream sugar and shortening.Add flour,salt,baking soda.Blend in with orange juice and then lastly,stir in the cranberries and nuts.
  3. Put all in a baking pan.Bake for an hr.Enjoy!
