mother's orange cranberry nut bread

I have made this bread often and have shared the recipe just as much.One day I was looking at an inn type cookbook and voila-the same recipe was there!This recipe originated from my mother,a wonderful cook...and we continue making it now.It's really a delicious,moist bread,filled with flavor for those who enjoy the blend of orange/cranberry!!

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons shortening,melted
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup cranberries, fresh (fresh frozen,straight from the freezer is fine!)
- 1 cup orange juice
- 3/4 cup walnuts halves,coarsely broken up

Step 1Preheat the oven to 350.Grease and flour a 9x5 loaf pan.

Step 2Cream sugar and shortening.Add flour,salt,baking soda.Blend in with orange juice and then lastly,stir in the cranberries and nuts.

Step 3Put all in a baking pan.Bake for an hr.Enjoy!
