Ingredients

3 medium
ripe bananas
2 large
egg
2 Tbsp
molasses
2 Tbsp
oil (i use corn oil)
2/3 c
granulated sugar
2 c
flour
1 tsp
baking powder
1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt
1 c
chopped nuts

How to Make MOTHER'S BANANA BREAD (SALLYE)

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 325º

    Chop nuts and set aside

    Grease or lightly spray a 8" x 5" x 3" loaf pan.
  • 2In large mixing bowl, mash bananas until no lumps remain. Be patient, this can take a few minutes.

    Add unbeaten egg to bananas and mix well.

    Beat in sugar, molasses and oil until well blended.
  • 3Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together.

    Pour nuts into sifted flour to cover.
  • 4Mix flour and nuts into mixture until well blended.

    Pour into greased loaf pan

    Cook in preheated 325º oven for 1 hour.
