This recipe comes from my mom. She used to make it a lot during the holidays.

Ingredients

  • - 2 cups flour
  • - 1 cup sugar
  • - 1 1/2 t. baking powder
  • - 1 t. salt
  • - 1/2 t. baking soda
  • - 1/4 cup shortening
  • - 1 t. grated orange peel
  • - 3/4 cup orange juice
  • - 1 well beaten egg
  • - 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • - 1/2 cup nuts

How To Make mom marcon's cranberry bread

  • Step 1
    Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Mix peel, juice and egg, and add to dry ingredients. Mix just to moisten.
  • Step 2
    Bake at 350 for 60 minutes. Cool. Wrap and store overnight. Hint: To avoid nuts and berries from sinking to bottom, add part of the flour mixture to nuts and berries before adding to batter. Source: My Mom and My Old Recipes
