Maybe because I live in Michigan, but I sure do love Maple stuff!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 - egg, well beaten
  • 3/4 teaspoon mapleline or maple flavoring
  • 1 cup nuts, chopped

How To Make maple nut bread

  • Step 1
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan.
  • Step 2
Sift dry ingredients into bowl and then add milk, egg and maple flavoring. Mix only until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in nuts.
  • Step 3
Pour into greased pan and bake for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean from center.
  • Step 4
This bread has a very mild maple flavor. It is good for anytime, but having it for breakfast, slathered in butter and toasted in a skillet and served with a fresh fruit cup is very tasty. Afternoon tea with tea-wonderful as well. I like to use pure maple flavoring instead of just an extract, if available.
