This is a quick bread recipe that originates from Australia/New Zealand, and is a particular favorite in the Queensland region of Australia.

    nonstick cooking spray (to coat baking pans)
  • 1/2 cup
  • 1 cup
  • 1oz
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 4 cups
    self-rising wholemeal flour (whole wheat flour)
  • 1 tsp
  • 4 1/2 oz
    chopped macadamia nuts (about 3/4 cups)

How to Make Macadamia Bread


  1. Preheat oven to 425°F 220°C). Spray a 5x8-inch or 6x8-inch loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.
  2. Heat the water, milk and butter, stirring occasionally, until butter is melted. Stir in the honey. Let mixture cool.
  3. Add flour, salt and chopped nuts and mix until ingredients are incorporated. Knead until dough is soft.
  4. Place dough in greased loaf pan, and bake 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool in pan about 5 minutes. Run a knife around the edge, remove loaf and serve immediately or let cool completely on wire rack.
