This is a treat that my mom and I used to make for church bake sales! It went quickly as everyone knew what a great cook Mom was.

Ingredients

3 cups sugar
1 cup oil
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2/3 cup water
2 cups sweet potatoes, cooked andf mashed
1 cup pecans or walnuts
4 - eggs

How To Make louisiana sweet potato bread

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine sugar and oil and beat well. Add eggs.

Step 2

Combine dry ingredients and add to egg mixture, alternating with water. Stir in mashed sweet potatoes and nuts.
Step 3

Pour batter into 3 lined and sprayed loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour.
