Ingredients
- 2 cups unbleached white flour
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons butter, chilled
- 1 cup raisins, optional
- 1 1/2 cups buttermilk or plain yogurt
How To Make irish soda bread

Step 1Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2In a bowl, combine ingredients. Cut butter into flour until it is pea size. Stir in raisins (optional) and buttermile or yogurt.

Step 3Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead 1 minute, shape into a disk.

Step 4Cut an "X" in the top and bake on a greased baking sheet for 45-60 minutes.
