I have been making this bread for over 35 years for St. Patrick's Day. It is a cross between a cake and bread, moist and delicious. I leave it out most of the day and wrap it in plastic and put in refigerator, or freeze some...Enjoy with butter..

Ingredients
- 4 cups unbleached flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 - eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup dark rasins
How To Make irish soda bread

Step 1Sift dry ingredients together 3 times.(trust me it's worth it)

Step 2Add the eggs beaten, 2 cups of buttermilk. Mix well Add the raisins.

Step 3use a 10 inch cake pan or skillet. I use pam spray. Pour batter into pan , It will be thick. Make a large cross on top of loaf. set oven to 350.
